Align your Receiving

Receiving can be a very tricky topic for some. We have trouble receiving all sorts of things from money, information, love, compliments and much more. I received information on this today that I wanted to share with you.

We are born in a state wherein we have no choice but to receive. Our survival depends upon it. It is the first thing we learn to do as humans. This is a deliberate move by the divine because it is important that we know how to receive. It also eases the transition into our human experience from being within the collective. Receiving is part of the process of love. Giving is one part, receiving is the other. So in order to see that love is grown and spread throughout the world we must be able to both give and receive.

As humans grow and begin to feel the full power of our free will and interact with society, we adopt many perspectives on receiving.  Many of these come from the sources who most influence us as we are growing. Many things we learn from childhood leave an impact on us most especially the foundational concepts. Some of these perspectives may not align with who we become when we reach adulthood. Many of these will continue to carry with us and by keeping them as our practice we end up creating challenges for ourselves oftentimes inadvertently.

The good news is we can release these beliefs and judgements in a peaceful way. When we try to release views, beliefs or practices it is seen as a struggle we must overcome. That creates an energy of resistance, a need may spring up in our subconscious to fight against it. These are things we have built ourselves upon in some cases, ridding ourselves of them in a destructive way may wreak havoc and end up reinstating it with twice the amount of conviction just so that we can regain a feeling of safety. Try instead this more peaceful technique.

Start by getting some time for yourself in a place that is peaceful and quiet. Get yourself nice and relaxed and say the phrase “I am open to learning the aligned ways to receive and release my judgements on how others receive.” After this phrase, begin to think about your relationship with receiving, let instances come up in your head when you have felt unworthy, judged, or insulted by something someone offered you. Go deeper and try to figure out what may have brought on that perspective in the first place. Was it a concept you learned growing up? An experience you had yourself? A combination of both?

After you have found what you believe to be the source of this perspective, apply forgiveness.

If it is someone who helped raise you say:

______I forgive you for teaching me this perspective on receiving. I know that you were trying to show me your love and protection by doing so. I can no longer hold this perspective because it does not align with my current expression of myself. Guides and Divine energies please help me dissolve and release this perspective.

If it was a bad experience you had with a stranger, try phrasing it this way:

I forgive you for hurting me with your actions. I recognize that your perspectives are not aligned with mine. I recognize that these actions may have come from a place of pain that you are struggling with. I recognize now that I do not have to bear the weight of your actions toward me any longer. Guides and Divine energies please help me dissolve and release this perspective.

Finally if it was just a bad experience you had in general that didn’t originate with a specific person try this: (I also recommend ending your healing session with this phrase)

I forgive myself for interpreting and integrating this perspective the way I did. I can see that this perspective no longer serves me. Guides and Divine beings please help me dissolve and release this perspective.

You may need to repeat these exercises more than once if it is a very prevalent perspective you have held for a long time but remember, your guides and the Divine are there to help you become the best version of yourself. The person you were meant to be. So give this technique a try and let me know what you think in the comments, or by email via highpointreiki@gmail.com

My Gift (and yours!)

As an Intuitive and Reiki Practitioner I am able to feel into a person’s energy and find out where it needs help and even get advice from your guides to help you. Because I have access to all 4 Clairs, I can see and feel your energy and receive information about your energy as pictures, sounds, thoughts or feelings in my head and body. I often tell people that developing intuition is like building a dictionary that is only shared between you and your guides. In the coming paragraphs the descriptions are what is in my personal dictionary and may not match yours if you are an intuitive as well.

You may now be asking what does energy look like? It mostly comes up as colors in my head that pertain to the chakras. Sometimes the chakras are light in color, sometimes they are dark in my dictionary, dark is not preferred unless there is a richness to the color and too light isn’t good either. Sometimes they have dark spots or a hole in the middle, to me this usually means that the energy is suffering a recent or recurring wound of some kind. Sometimes they are contained by a dark ring around the edge, this to me means there is plenty of energy there but it’s being held back for some reason. Sometimes there is gradation in the color within the chakras to me this means healing is occuring. I can also receive images about the chakra. I recently saw a chakra that looked like a pool where a big rock had been thrown into the center. This to me meant that an outside influence had made waves in this energy for good or for bad.

So what does energy feel like? As I give Reiki I often feel aches in certain chakras revealing a problem area. Sometimes it will be prickly too but for me that has more to do with physical ailments. I will also feel emotions. For instance when I do my Reiki/Reading sessions I let the guides pull me to the chakras that need attention and once I get there I usually get hit with an emotion. This is a general sort of message that is then supported by additional information my guides send through. Sadness may hit when I first get there and I will even get the feeling of tears running down my cheeks if it is a profound sadness related to the issue connected to the chakra.

While I enjoy sharing this picture of how the information comes through I do have an ulterior motive. Each time I do a Reiki/Reading session with someone not only do I get a picture of what’s wrong, I get a picture of what’s right. Doing these sessions has shown me that even people with a lot of fear or sadness, at the very root of their energy (not to be confused with the root chakra) is this wonderful beautiful essence. In that place there is love, kindness, compassion, and a wonder I would be hard pressed to describe adequately. I often tell people how good their energy feels, I can’t help it, it’s so beautiful that it has to be acknowledged.

So the main reason for writing all this is to let you know that you have that within you as well. An irrefutable beauty, an incredible power, a never depleting well of love and unimaginable strength even when you can’t feel it, it is there. I am incredibly lucky and grateful to be able to see it and I hope my meager attempts to convey it to those I have been allowed to read for are reaching them. This may sound hyperbolic to some but even then it isn’t enough to really get it across. Try this for me please. Spend some time with yourself, ask your guides to let you feel your own energy and don’t downplay or deny it when you feel it, it’s all true.

When you feel that swell of positivity and kindness, like light incarnate, that’s you. When you feel a deep and comforting love that covers you like a warm blanket, that’s you too. When there is a strength that feels fused to the earth’s bedrock itself, like a fortress that could take a million arrows or bullets and receive barely a dimple from that kind of attack, yep, that’s yours too. Don’t you dare deny it. The universe wants you to know that this is all contained within you already.

When you are in touch with this energy imagine what you could do for others. Knowing you can’t be stopped or swayed from your passion. Knowing that you will fearlessly express your love to others without shame or pause. Knowing that you can reach those who seem unreachable, love those who seem unlovable because you can see their light when others can’t. You can guide them to their purpose and help them reveal their light to the world.

We all have issues projecting those energies at times but that does not negate their existence. Think of life as a human and all the challenges we can face, all the stress that can rain down from various sources. The days that we want to retract from even our most beloved in our lives. The days we don’t even want to venture out from the safety of our beds. The days when everything everyone does feels like an insult or worse an attack.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and ask to feel that energy that lives inside of you in these moments. You may not spring out of bed but you will realize that you will again, even if it’s not today. You may not run to your beloved and throw your arms around them but you know that you will again soon.

Sometimes we need this space, to think and feel and acknowledge that we have these amazing resources within us. Sometimes the universe says “They have forgotten who they are, let’s show them.” Sometimes you have been giving too much and not realizing that you deserve the same love and service you give to others, even if you have to provide it to yourself. That’s why we have access to this energy, We are meant to live in love and service but also balance.

Allow that space, allow that time, speak your truth, air your complaints and hurts honestly and without cruelty. This tells the universe we are ready to heal. We are ready to dip into that endless well within us and replenish, that we are also worthy of the love and service we share with others. We are also deserving of time, space, and acknowledgement. Please receive that message, not just as some words from a post on the internet but into your heart. You are not only valid, but a marvel of the universe, that is your truth.

Do whatever it takes to infuse that message into your life and you will be supported in the expression of that. You will be imbued with a tangible feeling of all that lies within you and see its splendor in action. You will open yourself to the celebration of all those aspects of yourself that you have denied for so long. You will be working toward a self fulfillment on a scale you didn’t think was possible and even reshape the lives of others just by living as yourself unapologetically and joyfully. Your unique light is the beacon that someone is waiting for, and don’t forget, you are someone too.

Music Divination

Have you ever been going through something incredibly difficult in your life, and you get in your car, and the song on the radio is exactly what you needed to hear? Maybe, it wasn’t even the song but a particular line that popped out at you, that emerged from an otherwise silly song. I love it when that happens since I am an avid music fan. One day, I decided to try to ask for a message. I ended up developing this method to get requested guidance from my favorite music. Following this process, I have received great insight into some of the most harrowing situations in my life. Just to be clear, it doesn’t magically fix the situation, but it will provide you the clarity and perspective you have perhaps been missing or even dismissing. It’s also great if you are feeling a bit lost and want some insight, but nothing serious is going on.

If you have a vast music library available to you on a digital player or a favorite radio station then I wanted to tell you how I do it, in case it could help you too. I call it music divination. If something is weighing heavily on my mind I will use this method to provide insight, and it’s a good excuse to relax to some of my favorite music, which in my opinion is a healing activity in and of itself. This is how I do it, but you can use whatever process you think will work best for you. Keep the music off until you get to step 3 for the best results:

  1. Figure out what you most want or need to know in reference to what is weighing on your mind. This most likely will not be an exact answer method, but more like receiving good advice and perspectives you never considered before.
  2. Get yourself centered, calm, and receptive. Take a minute or two to breathe. Try to think of positive things like what you are grateful for in your life to raise your vibration. Once you feel relatively calm, ask about your issue. This statement may work well for you, but use whatever feels comfortable, “Please send me guidance through the music on/about X.”
  3. If you are using a playlist, put it on random, and start the music, or switch your radio to a station you like that plays songs you know. You could use songs you don’t know, but it may require more digging to get the message.
  4. Listen to the music that comes on, but also notice the way it makes you feel. There may be certain lines that stick out to you or just the energy of the music could bring you comfort and expansion to widen your perspective. Try not to over-analyze, focus more on being in a receptive state. It could just be the feeling the music stirs up in you that you need at that moment.
  5. You will most likely know when the message has been received. I usually get 1 to 2 songs but have gotten up to 3 songs that really provide the insight I needed. When you feel the message is done, try to recognize what lines/lyrics stuck out the most and the general feeling you got from the songs you heard.

Here are a few additional tips that will make it work even better for you:

  1. It works best with songs you know- you don’t have to know the song word for word, but the more familiar you are the better you will be able to receive the message
  1. Don’t skip songs no matter how silly or out of place they seem- on our digital players we all have songs we don’t enjoy the way we used to or downloaded on a whim or because it was free. This doesn’t disqualify it from carrying a message for you.
  1. You can look up lyrics after if you don’t know them all but you probably won’t have to. In my experiences with this exercise the words you need to hear come through very clearly.
  1. If I turn on the radio and it is near the end of the song I don’t always take that as a message. I try to give some leeway for things that are already playing and listen out for the next song to start but it can happen that quickly sometimes so don’t dismiss or ignore it either.
  1. The worst result you could get if it doesn’t seem to work is that you listened to some music that you enjoyed and your mind got a mini-vacation from focusing on the problem at hand.

I believe that there are messages out there for us all the time, and asking for them is a good way to get them. I also believe that if there is something like music that you really connect with then use that to make the connection. If you give your guides an indication of what will work they are happy to use it. It may even increase instances of it happening randomly as well, once they know that is a good way to reach you. Ultimately though, don’t forget to just enjoy the music you love, and recognize its healing effect on your life.

**In order to prepare writing this article, I did my own experiment; though I have done this many times before, I wanted a fresh experience to draw from. I asked for general guidance, and the first song that came on was a Kool and The Gang song I had heard maybe once before. I believe it was called Let’s Go Dancing, this was the first album I downloaded on my new (at the time) MAC computer close to 20 years ago. It was a very happy go lucky song, generally celebratory, as Kool and The Gang tend to be, but this line stuck out to me (copied from online lyrics page) “Went down to the park

Everything was dark, oh, yeah, yeah, all of a sudden

On came the lights

And everything was feeling right”

I enjoyed the rest of the song, but I knew this was my message. I interpreted it as I may be feeling a little bit lost or in the dark on some things but soon the “lights” will come on and everything will become clear and feel right. It was just the message I needed! Give it a try and see what you come up with. If you feel comfortable, put a comment below with your results!

You can use Reiki for that?!

Reiki is a fairly well known healing technique. It is used often in clinics that treat pain, cancer, and even for hospice patients. You may have even heard it can also be used for animals for the same reasons, pain, illness and anxiety. Those are wonderful uses for Reiki and really do help those that receive it, but there are many other uses for it that may not be known. For instance, did you know that if you have a big presentation at work and you fear you are too nervous to do a good job you could use Reiki for that? Now there could be an inexhaustible list of ways Reiki could help you, but how about we just start with a few.

Sleep– If you have been having issues falling asleep, or staying asleep and aren’t eager to or can’t take medicine for it, you could try Reiki. Reiki relaxes the body and activates its own healing power so if there is a physical or even mental issue keeping you from deep and restorative sleep Reiki may be the way to go.

Disagreements between friends or family– If you and someone you love have had a falling out and just can’t seem to find the even ground to talk it through, Reiki can help with that. When we are bonded to people we form energetic cords with them. When we fight that can cause damage to these cords. Through the energy used in Reiki though (Universal life energy or Ki) these cords can be healed. This healing is called a Karmic Band Healing*. Once that happens, the door is open for a conversation that can get you back to the happy times.

Location specific anxiety– While Reiki can help for general anxiety, in this case I’m thinking of the kind of experience that makes you literally afraid to return to a specific place. Where you the victim of a car accident and now are terrified to drive on that stretch of road? Or even get in a car? There is a healing technique in Reiki called Crystalline Healing*. It’s given in two sessions at least a day apart and the idea is that when you had that traumatic experience a crystal formed in your energy. These crystals can be dissolved with this healing and help relieve the long lasting pain or emotional baggage that accompanies such a trauma.

Houses, Rooms, pretty much any space you occupy regularly– You know how it feels to walk into your home after a long day at work. The relief, like a weight has been lifted off of you. This is where you are comfortable and can be yourself, well it probably didn’t feel that way the very first time you walked in there. It’s from the happy times you have spent there and the energy you built within that space. Now imagine you just moved into a new place and the air feels stale, and maybe the energy there even makes you a bit antsy.

If the energy from the previous occupants was full of conflict, sadness or any negative emotion, that energy may still be hanging around. Reiki can cleanse that space and make room for your new happy energy. The great thing is you can do it in just about any space you occupy regularly. Everyone at work been grumpy lately? Cleanse it with Reiki. Did you and your BFF have a big fight in your car and you think of it every time you get in? Cleanse it with Reiki. Well, you get the idea.

Plants– Reiki can bring your favorite houseplant back from the edge, or get your garden growing. I have used Reiki on plants with great results. All it takes is Reiki intended to address the problem the plant is experiencing. Just like with humans and animals. Check out this photo:

After my friends tomato plant didn’t produce any tomatoes all summer I sent it some Reiki and a few days later it produced its first tomato of the season better late than never!

So if you have been interested or even just curious about Reiki I hope this post sheds some light on the various things it can do to improve your life. If you would like to try it for yourself Schedule an appointment now!

The method of Reiki I practice is called Practical Reiki. It was developed from Kundalini Reiki (with permission) by Dr. Alice Langholt my awesome teacher! Crystalline Reiki and Karmic Band Healing are healings I learned under this program.

Claircognizance: Focus on Knowing

This is the fourth and final piece in a four-part content series that will cover ways to play so you can focus and strengthen your Clairs.
In case you aren’t aware of the four Clairs, or want a bit more information about them, here is a quick rundown.

Clairsentience(CS), or clear feeling, is when you feel sensations or emotions from people or situations that give you information or insight.

Claircognizance(CC), or clear knowing, is when information pops in your head like a thought that provides knowledge or insight, but there is no way you could have known that information.

Clairvoyance(CV), or clear seeing, is when you see pictures, symbols, images, or even scenes in your head that tell you about a situation or person that gives you information or insight.

Clairaudience(CA), or clear hearing, is when you hear a word, song, or sound that gives you information or insight.

This episode is about Claircognizance, or clear knowing, which we will abbreviate as CC. CC is when information that you couldn’t possibly know pops into your head. It feels so subtle and so much like your own thoughts that most of the time you feel like you came up with the info simply by being very smart or wise. For me, I had no idea I even had this ability, until I randomly asked a woman at my work if she was pregnant, and she said yes but it was so early on she hadn’t told any coworkers yet. That’s a bit more than being very smart, as I don’t even have extensive medical training that might justify that knowledge in a tell-tale signs kind of way. I wasn’t even sure where that info came from, and I still don’t know why I blurted it out that way. Luckily we were alone when I did, and she wasn’t angry.

Most of what I have learned about CC and the ins and outs of it came after that event. This was what sort of prompted me to get serious about developing my abilities. I had, until this point, felt that CS was my strongest Clair, with some CV and CA present as well. I hadn’t even looked into CC all that much, to be honest. Part of the reason I hadn’t, I think, is because navigating the what-comes-from-you vs the guides can be especially tricky with this Clair. Think of it this way, when an investigation is happening, the police collect pictures and ask about what people heard and what they may have felt (the temperature at the time, weather, etc). They rarely want to know what you know, because you could say anything. In the legal system, that is called hearsay and is not allowed in courtrooms.

There is a great deal of confidence work that has to be done for most, for them to have faith in this ability, myself included. With this Clair, I feel, more than the others, your thoughts and feelings can be quite the intrusion. Something may pop in your head, and you’ll tell yourself, “no way that’s possible.” Sometimes the opposite happens, and you believe it 100%, and it turns out to be your hope operating at 11. I apologize, if so, far this seems very negative. That is not my intent at all. I believe that the more understanding you have, and truth you have, the better you will be able to use this ability to help you and others. Don’t forget, you can always do the double check with your guides when you have the time to get calm, focused, and centered.

This ability is pretty great, once you do learn how to use it and recognize it. When I do an energy reading for someone, so much information comes through from my guides, and so quickly, sometimes I can barely keep up. When I send the reading, and the recipient comments on the accuracy, it is very fulfilling, because, especially at first, you are pretty unsure of how you did. As I learned from my teacher, Rev. E.A. Kerty, this is a pretty natural after effect of this ability. She calls it the Clair-cog hangover. As you practice, that confidence builds, and you are more sure of the information you got, and the effect balances out. Even if you weren’t interested in developing this ability, we could all use more confidence in our lives. That may be one of the biggest things I have learned while developing this ability.

Time for exercises! This is more of a confidence-building exercise. For this exercise, you will need to find a quiet place so you can be calm, focused, and centered. Now, imagine yourself doing something you have always wanted to do, the big dream that you always had as a kid, even if you don’t have the ability currently. For instance, if you always wanted to be a musician, imagine yourself playing a huge show at a stadium or first chair in a symphony. Perhaps you are traveling somewhere you have always wanted to go. Imagine you set your mind to do that, and worked very hard to get there. This is the big moment you had worked toward. Bask in the glory, feel the fulfillment you get from seeing your hard work pay off. Even if it’s something within your current career that will work too, but dream big, with no limitations.

Imagine the confidence you would feel after such an experience. Let that feeling fill you up. Imagine taking pictures for the news, or magazines, or just with fans. If you wanted to be a scientist, imagine winning a Nobel Prize for the discovery you made. Bring your big dream into reality for these few moments, and enjoy its energy. Most of all, imagine that you always knew you would get there to that glorious moment. Don’t allow self-conscious or negative thoughts into your fantasy! If this is something you are still pursuing, it could help you get there. The sky’s the limit. It’s your fantasy, for now.

Another exercise you can try is while watching TV. A mystery or thriller would work best, but anything with a less than straightforward plotline should work. Watch for long enough to decipher the plot, then pause it. Map out in your head where you think it might be going, what might happen, who will do what, and write it all down. Even if you can’t guess the ending, see if you can figure out some of the things that will happen along the way. If something pops into your head during this, even if it seems unlikely, write it down. You may be surprised. Just take a few minutes. Then, continue watching and see how you did when it is over.

To test your CC abilities find somewhere to be calm, centered, and focused. Have a pen and paper handy, and, when you feel ready, ask in your head or out loud what is most important to focus on in your life right now. Once you’ve asked, write down whatever words or phrases come into your head like thoughts. You may only get random words, or you may get whole sentences. Don’t judge it as you go along. Just keep writing down whatever comes to mind. After your 5 minutes are up, get up and move around a bit, dance to your favorite song, or take a walk outside. Return to the notebook after, and read through what you wrote down, and see how that resonates with what is going on in your life. If you are familiar with spiritual practices, you may recognize this as automatic writing.

This is a way to receive messages from your guides or higher self. An important thing to remember is that, while your guides can be very straight forward, they will never insult you or be mean. So, if there are any statements like that, it may be that you weren’t focused enough, and perhaps you should try again later. That is most likely your ego, who is just trying to keep you safe in the best way it knows how. Unfortunately, we sometimes give our egos too much control when traumatic things happen, and that carries over when we are feeling more like ourselves again.

CC is a great and efficient ability, if you can get past the confidence challenges. It takes some work, for some, to find the right balance. Honestly, as I said before, we could all use some help with our confidence in general. In a world where so many things about us can be judged and analyzed, sometimes most harshly by ourselves, it takes some work to build faith in this ability. Once you have, though, it is a straightforward no-nonsense way to get the information you may need. Interpretation is less of an issue with this ability, but having the confidence and clarity to use it is crucial.

Chakras: a Quick Guide

If you are new to, or only cursorily exploring, the spiritual world and its practices, you may have heard of Chakras but don’t know too much about them. This is a simple guide to what they are and what each one represents. There are many sources, available widely, to give you more information, but I wanted to give a succinct rundown so that you could have a working knowledge, since I have and will reference them from time to time. I will only be covering the 7 major Chakras in this piece.

Chakras are the energy centers in our body, and each one relates to a different set of characteristics. When they are in poor health, it can create emotional and even physical imbalances. Reiki deals with these energetic centers to promote healing, using a universal life energy that surrounds us all. Reiki practitioners (like myself) are attuned to sense and activate this energy within you so your higher self can guide it to where it is needed. There are also things you can do on your own to improve their health and live a more balanced and happy life.

Here is a summary of each chakra, their associated color, what characteristics it relates to, and tips to improve their health.

Root Chakra- Red

Relates to material world, stability, security, survival, action

This chakra is located between your legs. While most of the chakras have a front and a back, this one does not. This chakra is your connection to the earth.

This chakra is healthiest when you are feeling safe and secure in your surroundings. Even if your life seems chaotic to others, if it’s a chaos that you have designed and can work within, that’s great. It just means you feel safe and happy in whatever surroundings you exist within. You don’t spend your days worried about how to survive until tomorrow; you don’t have a consistent fear of the world or any aspect of your life. We all worry about things from time to time, that is natural, but if you feel in fear of some aspect of your life or the world most of the time, this chakra is probably unbalanced. Also, if something is wrong, you spring into action to fix it when this chakra is healthy. You don’t sit there and hope for the best as you wait to see what happens.

One way you can improve the health of this chakra is to have healthy boundaries in your life. If you don’t want to do something, then say so, if you need some alone time, say so, etc. Another thing that helps is exercise; when you regularly experience physical movement that makes you more aware of your body this helps quite a bit. Walking, running, dancing, working out. Walking in natural surroundings is a very major way you can help this chakra, as well. This chakra is where our connection to the earth starts, so being in nature is a wonderful technique for restoration to this area.

Sacral Chakra-Orange

Relates to emotions, relationships,control,pleasure,desires,creativity

This chakra is located in the area of your lower intestine and internal reproductive organs. It also has a rear opening which is in the lower back area.

This chakra is the healthiest when you are pursuing your dreams. You may work a normal job, but there is something else you have always wanted to do that brings you joy, and you are going for it. You have a happy and healthy relationship with your friends. Intimacy is about connection and the sharing of pleasure and love between you and your sweetheart, in a way that’s meaningful and fulfilling. You don’t feel the need to control everything in your life.

If you want to improve the health of this chakra, you can work on something you love, some creative project that sets your heart ablaze. Even if you only have a small amount of time to work on it, do it. Also, getting to know your sexual needs can help. What you like or don’t like, what makes you feel loved and fulfilled, and what will allow you to open up to give and receive with love and pleasure. Finally, spoil yourself! Take some time to yourself for self care, indulge in something that makes you happy and restores you.

Solar Plexus Chakra-Yellow

Relates to intellect, ambition, personal power, confidence/self worth

This chakra is located in your midsection, under the rib cage, right around the area you get butterflies when you are excited or nervous. It has a rear opening, as well, that comes out around the middle of your back.

This chakra is where your confidence is located. When it is healthy, you are confident or at least not afraid to push through when you are not. You know who you are, and you tend not to let people bully you or walk all over you. You are self assured and really go for your goals.

If you want to improve the health of this chakra, try to keep an open posture, don’t cross your hands across your body as if you are protecting yourself from something (unless there is actual danger or projectiles of course); this sends the message to your body that you need protection even when you don’t. If you have this posture most of the time, your body starts to believe it is always in danger and adjusts accordingly.

Also, keep tabs on your accomplishments; when you do something you are proud of, write it down in a journal. If you’re having a particularly bad day, go back and read it, to remind yourself that you are awesome.

Heart Chakra- Green

Relates to love,compassion,emotional balance

This chakra is located in the center of your chest, where the typical superhero emblem would sit. It has a rear opening that is just beneath the shoulder blades.

This chakra is where your love and compassion are located. When it is healthy, life feels good; you are at peace with the world and humanity. You have compassion for others and are open to seeing the good in the world. Your relationships are balanced and happy.

If you want to improve the health of this chakra, you can spend time with those you love, like friends and family. You can do nice things for others, spoil someone you love. Even a minor good deed to a stranger can help get this chakra healthy again.

Also, relish what is good in your life; practice gratitude for the things you have that make you feel happy and supported. Take moments throughout your day to account for the good things in your life and the beauty in the world. Allow yourself to be loved, accept praise or gifts, and fight the urge to reciprocate with anything more than a thank you. Don’t worry about seeming ungrateful. Just accept the gesture, whatever it is. In other words, allow yourself to be loved.

Throat Chakra- Blue

Relates to communication, self expression, speaking one’s truth

This chakra is located in the bottom of your neck near your collarbone, right where most of us would imagine your voice comes from. It also has a rear opening, in the back of your neck.

This chakra relates to communication and self expression in general: speaking your mind, speaking your truth, and standing up for what you believe in, whether it be a personal matter or more worldly. When this chakra is healthy, you have no problems communicating, not only in general but even in times of conflict. You are expressive and not easily bulldozed or dismissed, nor do you bulldoze or dismiss others, even  in conversations of a more tense nature. You claim who you are and what you believe proudly.

To improve the health of this chakra, you can talk, sing, or express yourself in some other creative way. This could even be having a one person concert in your car, alone. Expression is the important thing here. Also, journaling about things that are bugging you or even talking to yourself in the car, alone, about it will help you. Write out how you feel about an issue in which you feel no one is listening, or even have a make believe conversation with the person you would like to talk to about the issue, or just yourself, as if you are talking to a friend. Talking to a friend is also a good idea, if they are willing to give you space to truly express yourself.

Third eye Chakra- Indigo

Relates to spiritual awareness, insight, intuition, imagination

This chakra is located between the eyes, just above the brow, which is why it is also sometimes called the brow chakra.

This chakra relates to intuition, insight, and spiritual awareness. When this chakra is healthy, you can receive messages and guidance from your guides. Your imagination is active and healthy. You can envision the pathway to accomplishing what you most want. You feel connected to the universe and see the ways in which life just works out sometimes. Sometimes, you even feel as though things are aligning just for you.

To improve the health of this chakra, reflection is the best way, in my opinion. Even if you can only do it for 5 minutes, start there, and build up the time gradually. Also, daydreaming you are in a happy peaceful place and have no issues to worry about would be another good technique.

Crown Chakra- Violet/White

Relates to spirituality, energy, connection to the Divine

This chakra is located at the top of your head. There is no back to this one, much like the root chakra.

If this chakra is healthy, you have a positive view of the world, and you feel connected to other people, nature, and the world in general. You may also feel like you need to contribute something positive to the world. You are at peace with your life most of the time, with a knowing that, even if things get hard sometimes, you can handle it, and it will get better. It is easy for you to feel at peace or even blissful.

To improve the health of this chakra, you can pray in whatever way feels appropriate to you. Also, you could go somewhere in nature that brings you peace, just enjoy your surroundings or find a place that is quiet to rest, give yourself time and space to think and to appreciate what is good in the world.

Bonus exercise! Now that you have learned about the chakras, it is time for you to connect with them yourself. Find a quiet place where you can focus, clear your mind, and center yourself. Once you feel relatively at peace, ask in your head, or out loud, what chakra needs the most healing. If it helps, you may keep your eyes closed. Give yourself a few minutes to receive an answer. It may come through as a color that relates to that chakra, a word may pop into your head, or you may feel a sensation in a certain part of your body. Write down whatever you experience after you are finished receiving, then, if you need to, refer back to the list. See if this answer makes sense to you and what you are experiencing in your life right now.

Your chakras are worth getting to know. Being intuned to the chakras can help you look at your life and figure out what’s holding you back. It can help you find a more balanced approach to things that will bring you more happiness. You can repeat this exercise as often as you like, whenever you feel you need to check in with yourself.

Focus on Seeing: Clairvoyance

This is part three in a four part content series that will cover ways to play so you can focus and strengthen your Clairs.

This episode is about Clairvoyance, or clear seeing, which we will abbreviate as CV. I know, you are picturing it right? The mysterious woman is going about her day and suddenly she touches her temple appearing to be suffering a sudden onset migraine. A gasp escapes her, and she runs off to stop the horrible terror that is set to befall the person in her vision. Well, I hate to tell you this, but that is not how it works, at least not for me. Perhaps there are some who experience CV in this way, but for me it is a picture in my mind’s eye, usually of a person, place, or scene. It is rarely a dramatic event. I tend to experience it most during my mediumship readings: a picture of who I am connecting with, an item they want me to mention, or a scene from their childhood to help identify them.

Also, dreams can be a bigger deal for those who have strong CV. They can view entire situations that end up happening within a few days to years later or some scene that they can later connect to something that happened through the imagery. Sometimes, it will feel like deja vu. They also seem to have more vivid dreams.

Interpretation can be a major factor in CV. More so than CA, CC, or even CS, I would say. Learning to communicate with your guides is like learning a new language, but this language has been tailored to you and your internal dictionary. For instance, a book to one person may mean some life changing literature that put them on the path to destiny; to another, it may be the thing that held their door open at their parent’s house. Your task is to figure out what the image means to you. Context matters too, if it’s a general book it could mean to study, or a door stop. If it is a specific book you have seen or read before, try to figure out what that particular book brings to mind for you.

Color also plays a big part in interpretation. Chakra colors factor in quite often, but, again, if a color brings back a very specific memory or feeling for you, that may be what the guides are trying to convey. You can ask for clarification, if you’re not sure. The guides will usually work with you until you can find a meaning that fits what they are trying to tell you.

The color blue, for instance, could relate to water. It is seen by many as a color that associates with the male gender. It could also relate to the throat chakra, which is related to communication. The shade could also be a factor. In relation to chakras, a dark or muddy blue may skew more negative indicating trouble with communication, a lighter clearer blue more positive. So as you can see, we already have a few different factors to interpret, just for one color. However, if your favorite bicycle when you were younger was blue, and it took you on various adventures and the blue color was a part of why you loved it, it could be that’s what the guides are trying to tell you: that adventure is on its way. Please leave room for possibilities, but also don’t overthink it. Go with what feels right, and that may vary based on what you are asking. If you are deliberately looking at chakras, it’s unlikely the bike is what your guides are looking to convey.

Here are a couple of exercises you can use to enhance your CV ability. We all have things in our house that we see everyday. Find something in your home that you find particularly mundane, and look at it closely. Something you can pick up would be best. Really investigate the item as if you have never seen it before, and try to find at least one thing you have never noticed about it. It could be a feature that it came with, or it could be a ding or scratch that it earned over its years living with or even before you. Look it over several times.

Give yourself a few minutes to do this, and really view every inch of the item. If it is a knick knack, look at the bottom, find out where it was made, see if there is a year listed. If it is an umbrella, check if there are any tags you have never read on it. If it is your keys, look at what is etched on the keys at the top, and there would certainly be wear on those. You could also do this in your front or backyard as well. Just stand there, and take it all in, and try to notice if there is anything interesting or different you have never noticed before. Essentially, you are trying to see whatever you choose to examine with new eyes.

The second is, find somewhere you can be calm, centered, and focused and will not be interrupted. Now picture somewhere you have always wanted to go; it doesn’t matter where: beach, forest, outerspace, anything will work. Once you are there in your mind, work on picking up details. Explore your dream location. What color is the sky? What plants or animals are there? Are there other people there? If so, what do they look like? Imagine yourself walking around and taking in all the scenery. See what pops up. You may experience sounds and feelings too, if your CA or CS are active for you, but focus on what you see. Tell yourself that when you are finished you will need to describe it to an artist to draw it out, so details are important. Be excited that you are there, and enjoy yourself; this will make it come through more clearly. Try to have the enthusiasm similar to a child in an amusement park for the first time.

Now it is time to give your CV a whirl. Get yourself in a calm, centered, and focused place. Think to yourself or say outloud, What do I most need to focus on right now? Give yourself 2 to 5 minutes to receive the answer. When you are done receiving write down what you saw in your head. Look over your notations and see if any of the images you saw make sense to what is going on in your life right now. If so take action! This will foster a relationship with your guides and ultimately improve communication.

CV is a great ability to develop, even if you are not doing readings for people. It is the most glamorized in TV and movies, but if you consider the visual nature involved, it is no surprise. It is unlikely that it will be an earth shattering experience, at least not every time.

You may have noticed that I didn’t ever say that your eyes needed to be closed. They don’t! When I receive CV images, they feel like they are happening in the back of my head, not in front of my eyes, even when my eyes are closed. I find it easier to see CV images when I am viewing something that doesn’t stimulate me in real life. I can kind of check out from my physical vision and see what is going on in the back of my head. It occurs like a thought, like many of these abilities do, but there are clear visual elements. You see things in your head, but it rarely resembles how we see on a daily basis.

I use this ability in all my readings and, frequently, in my day to day life as well. Numbers appear in my head, facial expressions that convey emotions, and sometimes even people’s faces I have never seen before. It is possible to see things with your eyes with this ability, just not typical.

I once saw a woman talking in a public forum, in front of a blank white background, and I kept seeing a clear aura next to her. There were no colors to it, just an outline that was person shaped, very close to her, but slightly taller. As she continued speaking, she mentioned her father, who had passed a few years ago. I knew this was him standing there with her, once she mentioned him. This was new to me at the time, because I usually feel presences when they are in close proximity with my CS. I have since seen the same thing with others and in pictures as well.

So, give these exercises a try, and leave a comment below, if you feel compelled to, about your experiences with them!

Sign up for the email list below, because I believe, in order to do this topic justice, I will be writing a separate post about Chakras, their colors, and what those represent. There may even be a bonus exercise in there. So, sign up so you know when that post comes through!

Focus on Feeling: Clairsentience

This is part two in a four part content series that will cover ways to play so you can focus and strengthen your Clairs.

In case you aren’t aware of the four Clairs or want a bit more information about them, here is a quick rundown.
Clairsentience(CS), or clear feeling is when you feel sensations or emotions from people or situations that gives you information or insight.

Claircognizance(CC) or clear knowing is when information pops in your head like a thought that provides information or insight but there is no way you could have known that information.

Clairvoyance(CV) or clear seeing is when you see pictures, symbols, images, or even scenes in your head that tell you about a situation or person that gives you information or insight.

Clairaudience(CA) or clear hearing is when you hear a word, song or sound that gives you information or insight.

This episode will be about Clairsentience which we will abbreviate to CS. I absolutely love CS because it can help you in so many ways. Have you ever been somewhere and you get this feeling inside that something is going to happen and then a fight breaks out? Have you ever met someone that was highly talked up but they just gave you an unsettled feeling? These are ways that CS can help and protect you. CS is also good for yes no questions when you are in need of  quick guidance but we will get back to that. Generally how it works is, you get a feeling or sensation spontaneously that will give you guidance. There are many phrases in our vernacular that seem to allude to CS (I.E. my stomach dropped, my heart felt like it was overflowing or I had a feeling…) those types of things. It is my suspicion that this is why (though I didn’t research this) we call our emotions feelings sometimes.

I think these exercises could really help you amplify this ability and they are a lot of fun! So the first exercise would be to draw yourself a bath. You can make whatever typical choices you would temperature wise and additives, though I do think bubble bath could add a layer of fun and sensation to this. Get in the bath and let yourself feel all the sensations. The warmth of the water, the fluffy bubbles (if you went that way), and just the general comfort, even luxury of this time to yourself. Now I want you to play a little. Make waves in your bath and feel that sensation, how the movement of the water feels on your skin, how the rhythm slows as the waves diminish, how the water level feels when it is moving up and down on the parts of you that are not submerged. Next, take your hand and completely submerge it, then slowly pull it out of the water. Do this as slowly as you can and notice the movement of the water line against your skin. How the part of your hand out of the warm water feels when the colder air hits it. You can even wiggle your fingers under the water, then out of the water to notice the difference. Get creative! Try to think of other ways to play in the water to make sensations for you to examine. Have fun!

The next exercise can be done whenever you are watching a movie, listening to music or appreciating any artform that brings up emotions. When you are enjoying whatever beautiful art you have chosen and your emotions start to pique, and it does not really matter if they are happy or sad, in fact trying this with both groups of emotions is recommended but not necessary. When the emotion starts welling up inside you let it happen and just try to notice the way it feels not just emotionally but physically. When you are sad do you tense up? If you cry do you physically feel something releasing inside you? When you are happy do you feel an expansion feeling? Do you feel the joy inside of you trying to get out in the form of noise or action? If you get angry do you feel a scream rising up inside you? Does it feel prickly or heavy? Try to feel whatever emotion comes up. Allow it to come but try to observe its effects in your skin, throat, stomach, head, arms, legs…well you get the idea.

There are many ways to use CS to navigate tough situations, but also find joy. When you are wandering around town and feel a pull toward something let it pull you there. If you are repelled then leave that situation. Fine tuning this ability can tell you whether it is the place or a specific person making you feel what you feel, even if nothing happens to clarify it.

The exercise for Yes/No I like to do is this. If you are comfortable with being touched by things you cannot see it works very well. Now when I say touched I don’t mean the feeling of a finger or hand, for me it feels like a slight pressure or sensation. Something like a warm glow. I do not mind it but others may not be so excited to do it. If you think it will make you uncomfortable keep reading for another way my intuitive teacher recommends. For my exercise I will say to my guides “Touch my right cheek for yes and my left cheek for no.” Then I will ask qualifying questions to make sure we are on the same page. These are questions you already know the answers to, for example, Do I live in a house? If you do they should touch your right, if you do not, left. I usually ask 2 to 3 of these to make sure we are all on the same page, then I ask my questions that need answers. If you have ever tried using a pendulum this may sound familiar but with a twist.

As I said in my previous post about CA your emotions can affect the results you get so make sure you have relaxed, cleared your mind, and centered yourself before starting. If having something touch your face that you cannot see does not appeal to you then try this method I learned from Reverend E.A. Kerty instead. Ask your questions and see how they feel. If you feel an expansion or a positive feeling from that question, that is a yes. If you feel contraction, tension or a negative feeling, it is a no. Either method is simple and can be done by anyone with even the slightest CS ability and the more you practice the stronger it will get.

CS is an ability I have had for a long time. It has tipped me off to bad situations arising, it has precognitively broken bad news to me, and it has prevented certain bodily harm. Feeling your stomach drop when someone tells you good news is not a good feeling, but not being harmed in a violent incident is awesome. As with any of these abilities, or anything in life for that matter, there are good points and not so good points. CS does come up frequently not only in readings, but also in my Reiki practice. It does requires interpretation in some cases which can be tricky but it is mostly straight forward in day to day use.

An important thing to remember is that you should trust your instincts if something gives you a bad feeling and you can get away do it and do not let anyone pressure you into staying in the situation. It is most likely your guides trying to save you from ,at least, a lot of trouble but more importantly, your feelings matter don’t be afraid to listen to them and honor them. ~
